Our Veterinarians

Dr. Sherry Teegardin
Dr. Sherry Teegardin

DVM/Medical Director
Education: Michigan State University

Dr. Teegardin graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been happily married to her husband, Chad, for over 30 years. They have one grown son, Cody, a daughter-in-law named Jenny, and two grandchildren, Colton and Annabelle. Dr. Teegardin has one horse named Penny and two goats, Oakley and Squirt. She enjoys spending time with her family, rustic camping, kayaking, skiing, hiking, and reading Sci-Fi. She converted her mobile equine practice in 2013 and founded Sheridan Animal Hospital to provide high-quality, comprehensive veterinary services in the local area. Dr. Teegardin feels blessed to live and work in a small-town community only a few miles from where she grew up.

Dr. Krista Kruszewski-Menter
Dr. Krista Kruszewski-Menter

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Krista Kruszewski-Menter is originally from Brighton, Michigan. She attended Grand Valley State University for her bachelor’s degree and fell in love with West Michigan. She then moved to Champaign, Illinois, to attend veterinary school at the University of Illinois. Krista is very excited to be back in Michigan! In her spare time, she enjoys cooking with her husband, Ken, and being outside with their Alaskan Malamutes, Maple Blueberry and Volt. She also likes reading thriller novels and doing crafts.

Dr. Ashley Steuer
Dr. Ashley Steuer

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Ashley Steuer earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a special interest in veterinary parasitology, ophthalmology, and soft tissue surgery, and taught veterinary parasitology from 2015 to 2021. Dr. Steuer takes pride in being empathetic and compassionate towards her patients, clients, and coworkers alike. She loves working toward success as a team and continues to have a passion for education, whether as a student or a teacher. Outside of her veterinary work, she enjoys running a small sheep and horse ranch with her husband, Anthony. Dr. Steuer loves to read, learn new recipes, play the occasional video game, trail ride, train horses, crochet, do photography, and play music on the flute. A fun fact about Dr. Steuer is that she collects flutes and mugs. Her beloved pets include three horses (Jewels, a Chincoteague Pony; Mo Cuisle, an OTTB; and Mo Uisce Beatha, an Appendix QH), four dogs (Maiya, an SF Maltese; Alaria, an SF Yorkie; Beyla, an SF Anatolian Shepherd; and Jormangandr, an IM Anatolian Shepherd), one black cat (Salt, a DLH NM), and twelve chickens.

Dr. Adam Dorr
Dr. Adam Dorr

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Adam Dorr is an Associate Veterinarian with 10 years of experience in dairy practice, both in private and industry settings. He graduated from Michigan State University’s Veterinary School and has since developed a keen interest in preventative medicine and internal medicine to promote the overall health and wellness of his patients. Dr. Dorr takes pride in providing high-quality, compassionate, and low-stress care to his patients, while also ensuring that their owners are informed and educated about their pets’ health and treatment plans. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kayla, and their son, Teddy. Together, they enjoy boating, swimming, camping, hiking, and skiing. Dr. Dorr also has two dogs, Rudy and Oh’ Petes, and a cat named Bear.

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Werner Wegener graduated from Ohio State University and has been practicing for 20 years. He specializes in surgery, always eager to learn new techniques. Dr. Wegener prides himself on providing exceptional patient care and ensuring his clients are fully satisfied and informed. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, golfing, fishing, playing pickleball, and spending time with family and friends. He loves traveling to new places and hosting family movie nights with a projector. Dr. Wegener has 4 dogs and 3 cats.

CVA/Hospital Manager

Brandy is the Hospital Manager at Sheridan Animal Hospital. She attended Penn Foster, where she became a Certified Veterinary Technician. Before joining Sheridan Animal Hospital, Brandy worked for almost 20 years at Spectrum Health United in Greenville, as well as in several other roles, including working for Baldwin Quarter Horses for 19 years, serving as a Veterinary Assistant at Orchard View for 3 years, and doing ride-alongs with Dr. Teegardin for 2 years prior to the establishment of Sheridan Animal Hospital. She enjoys horseback riding, bicycling, camping, and walking her dogs. Brandy has a horse named Flash, a mini donkey named Pepperoni, two Labradors named Harper June and Charlie, and two cats, Dusty and Bud. She loves taking care of animals and going above and beyond for clients.

Safety Coordinator/Inspector

Ashley worked as a Veterinary Assistant with Sheridan Animal Hospital before moving a couple of hours away with her husband, Jake. She returned to the team in October 2021 as the Safety Coordinator. Ashley handles much of her work off-site by conducting monthly online OSHA training for staff and performing hospital safety checks quarterly.

Desaray has been a Certified Veterinary Assistant with us since March 2021. She attended Animal Behavior College for her CVA and is currently pursuing her LVT through Penn Foster. Desaray enjoys kayaking and fishing with her friend Karah, loves horseback riding, and spending time with her numerous dogs.

Lead Veterinary Assistant

Jen is the Lead Veterinary Assistant at Sheridan Animal Hospital and holds an Associate’s Degree in Math and Science, along with a grooming certification from Penn Foster. She is currently enrolled in Penn Foster’s Veterinary Technician Degree program. With over 12 years of experience in the veterinary field, Jen strives to learn and excel in her role. Outside of work, she enjoys camping, fishing, and hunting. She also loves to relax with a good book or play classical music on the piano.

Lead Receptionist

Tiffany is a laid-back individual with a huge heart for animals. She has known since she was just 5 years old that she wanted to work with animals. Tiffany has explored various roles in the field, including working with breeders, kennels, training, and grooming, but her heart is always happiest working in veterinary medicine.

Originally from Santa Clarita, CA, Tiffany spent the last ten years in Texas and Louisiana before deciding to make Michigan her home. In her spare time, she enjoys gaming online with friends, reading, drawing, or writing. Tiffany has three dogs and a cat, who she considers her kids and they are all very spoiled.

Kenna has been a Veterinary Assistant with Sheridan Animal Hospital since March 2020. She is currently taking classes through Penn Foster for her LVT. Kenna lives with her 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 ferrets, 26 chickens, and multiple other pets. She enjoys shopping, playing the piano, and having fun with friends. Kenna is a delight to work with and is always happy to see your pet.

Lauran started as a Veterinary Assistant at Sheridan Animal Hospital in October 2021. Helping animals has always been her passion, along with supporting pet owners. Lauran grew up on a farm and has had animals her whole life. She has a dog named River and a cat named Boo. In her free time, she enjoys riding her horses, fishing, spending time outside with her dog, and riding her dirt bike.

Meet Nichole, a dedicated Veterinary Assistant with a passion for caring for animals that has spanned over a decade. Her love for animals started at a young age and blossomed into a fulfilling career where she provides comfort and support to furry friends in need.

Outside of work, Nichole is a loving partner to her fiancé, balancing a busy household with their two adorable children, aged 2 and 6. Their home is also shared with two playful dogs and three affectionate cats, creating a lively and loving environment for both humans and animals alike.

Nichole’s days are filled with a mix of professional dedication at the veterinary clinic and joyful chaos at home, where she finds joy in caring for her family and beloved pets. Her compassionate nature extends beyond her work, making her a beloved member of both her family and the animal community she serves.

Veterinary Assistant

Marissa joined the Sheridan team as a Veterinary Assistant in October 2020. She loves interacting with clients and has great enthusiasm for helping out as much as possible. Marissa enjoys spending time with her husband, Austin, and their two cats, Emerest and Isabel. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, spending time outdoors, and visiting with family.

Jill has been in the veterinary field for 18 years. She has a very kind heart and loves helping all kinds of animals. Jill is married with two grown children, two dogs, and a cat.

Brittany has been a Veterinary Assistant since 2014. She lives with her boyfriend and their 8-month-old son, as well as her four cats. Brittany enjoys spending time at the beach with friends and listening to music.

Danny worked as a Veterinary Assistant in Irving, Texas, for about a year and a half before joining Sheridan Animal Hospital in July 2024. She grew up on a farm and loves animals of all kinds. In her free time, Danny enjoys spending time with her little one, going on hikes, and soaking up the sun at the beach.

Aleacia Kuhn

Veterinary Assistant

Aleacia has been in the veterinary field since 2015. She joined Sheridan Animal Hospital in May 2024. Aleacia enjoys gardening, yoga, hiking, fishing, and tending to her 60 (and counting) houseplants. She has a black Labrador Retriever named Dixie and a black cat named Thackery Binx and loves taking them both on her many adventures.

Shilo is a dedicated mother of three children. She graduated with honors from Platt College with an associate degree in veterinary science.

Passionate about animals, Shilo shares her home with two ferrets, three cats, and three dogs. Her love for animals extends beyond her own pets, as she works as a veterinary technician. In her free time, Shilo enjoys spending quality time outdoors with her furry companions, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors.

Tami is our Administrative Assistant. She also does our surgery pre-registration. She enjoys numerous hobbies and spending time with her family. She especially enjoys the precious time she gets with her grandchildren. She has three kids and three grandchildren! And she has two Doberman Pinchers that are also like her kids. To all of the pet parents out there, we know you understand!

Stacey Vaughn
Stacey Vaughn

Receptionist

Stacey started with Sheridan Animal Hospital in March 2020. She grew up in Belding and currently resides in Edmore with her husband, two boys, two German Shepherds, Nova and Maverick, and their 1.5-year-old Pomeranian, Buster. In the summer, Stacey and her family enjoy time on their boat or traveling. In the fall, she can be found on the bleachers cheering on her boys in football. During the winter, Stacey is at the Snocross racetrack in Marcellus, and in the spring, she is at the track field. In her free time, Stacey enjoys hunting, fishing, riding quads and snowmobiles, camping, crafting and DIY projects, and spending time with her family.

Receptionist

Lorelei is an empty-nester who, along with her husband, has four adult children, three dogs, three goats, and two cats. She joined the SAH team after spending almost 20 years in banking. Lorelei is an avid pet lover. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, being outdoors, and spending time with her family and pets.

Receptionist

Kiara was born in Carson City, Michigan, but spent most of her childhood in Sheridan. She recently moved back to the area with her fiancé, three dogs—Billy the Goat, Missy Lynn, and Little Man—and one cat, Pepe Le Pew. Kiara and her fiancé are expecting their first child at the end of 2024.

In her free time, Kiara enjoys reading, watching TV, and spending time with family. In the future, she hopes to own her own home, finally get married to her fiancé, and together be the best parents they can to their new little one.

Receptionist

Desiree has been an animal lover her whole life. She is newly married and an even newer dog mom to her rescue pup, Roo. She enjoys any type of hiking, reading, and game nights. Her dream is to start a dog and cat animal rescue.
