Emergency Services for our regular clients

Sheridan Animal Hospital currently provides 24-hour emergency medical coverage for all of it’s equine and small livestock patients at the owner’s farm.  We also provide 24 hour emergency coverage for small animals and haul-ins.  Regular customers of the practice(those whose animals are seen at least once in the proceeding 12 months for routine services) will receive a discounted after hours emergency fee.  Emergency services are available to non-regular clients as veterinarian availability permits. Payment for all services rendered will be due at the time of the service is provided.   We urge owners to consider applying for Care Credit (a health care credit card) before an emergency happens so that providing the best possible care for your pet/animal during a crisis will not pose a crushing financial burden. Applying for care credit is easy with an immediate decision at www.CareCredit.com.  Please call the hospital at 989-291-3647 if you have an emergency and the on-call veterinarian will return your call within 30 minutes whenever possible.

Vaccine Assurance Program:

At Sheridan Animal Hosiptal, we understand that vaccinations are a very important part of protecting the health of your pets and family. Over the past several years, we have seen a resurgence of both Equine and Canine diseases, which pose a threat not only to your horses and dogs, but also to you and your family.  With this in mind, we recommend that all pets and horses be examined by a veterinarian and vaccinated with the recommended core vaccines at least annually. We understand that vaccinations are expensive, but believe that the protection they provide for both you and your animals far outweighs the cost. The vaccines that we use are FDA approved and purchased from manufacturers who stand behind the effectiveness of their vaccines.  Our vaccines are purchased directly from approved suppliers and are shipped, received, and stored in the temperature controlled manner which is required for the vaccine to maintain its effectiveness.

For our Equine patients, we have chosen to use the Boehinger line of vaccinations.  These vaccines have been clinically proven to provide protective immunity against Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, and West Nile Virus which will last for one year (horses receiving these for the first time will need a primary dose and a booster dose). The manufacturer is so confident in this protection that they have pledged to pay up to $3000.00 per horse to cover diagnostics and treatment of any of the covered diseases if illness strikes at your farm when their vaccines are administered by a veterinarian.  Some conditions apply, so please call and talk with us today so that we can get your horses protected.
